Dear Fellow Lions and Friends of Lions,
DOWN MEMORY LANE
If it is true that "a picture paints a thousand words" then this is precisely what we intend to do. This is the forum where we attempt to record the past, present and possibly future activities of our club. While we pledged ourselves to serve the community, the poor and needy, we must not forget the valued fellowship we are cultivating in our team. Similarly, we must be happy that we are able to be of assistance to these unfortunate and underprivileged people to the best of our efforts. Indeed, a formidable and noble feat that requires us to stay united, strive to be active and keeping the spirit of Lionism alive. Therefore, without much to ado, here are the short summary of our activities:

Event 26 - Community Service - Senior Citizen Care
Free Internet & Moble Phone Training for Senior Citizen
With the help of our Leos & Friends of Lions, the Pilot run of this project was launched successfully on the 17th March 2011 at Microsoft Cybercafe, Mega Mendung, OUG. With this little success, we proceeded further with another training held on the 2nd April 2011 at at e-Suft Internet, Amcorp Mall, PJ.
The primary objective is to update the knowledge & technological skills of our Senior Citizen slightly below and above 55 years old in a world of fast changing technology. As the saying goes, it is never too old to learn new things in life.
See Grandma!, it is so easy to go into the net.It is very enlightening but safe on the net as you explore the world for more knowledge just with your fingers.
For future dates, do book a place with us for this interesting training session and we will teach you how to discard your doubts or phobia about surfing on the net as well as a chance to meet new friends here or over the net. From this program, we observed that the benefits of this program is not only for the senior citizen but also our young batch of Leos Trainers. Given the exposure and opportunity, fundamentally this is an important learning curve for the young to learn how cultivate patience and respect our elderly persons.
From what they have learn and experience in this program chances would be that they will be more filial to their parents. Definitely it is a Win Win situation!
Our contingent of young Leo trainers from SMJK Dato Lokman and the brave group of senior citizens led by Lions Dr Raymond Wong. President of Lions Club of KL WestEvent 25: 49th MD308 Lions Convention 29th April 2011 in Ipoh
Although there are so much of funs, good food, fellowship and receipients for the Lons awards,
the event was marred by poor logistics and organzing. Moreover in this year Lions Convention probably marked the darkest history of the Lions Movement as the group of so called beloved past District Governors of 308 B1 massed together screaming and shouting for rights on the formation of a pool of Senior PDGs Team to mustered control as mentor to present and future newly elected DGs. There are certainly blood drawn that splited the good spirit and fellowship of B1 Lions into two or more fractions as the present DG attempted to squash this motion. Eventually if this issue is not amicably resolved it will hammper the grouwth of future Lionism movement in Malaysia. Let us hope all these old chaps DGs will sit together with a cool head to settle all their personal problems in the Spirit of Lionism in a dedicated way. Our club voice out in the Convention that this issue should not be brought out to the delgegates which has wasted so much of valuable time on more fruitful issues and brought so much of unhappiness and sadness to all at the Convention.. Not happy with things that are happening at the Lions Headquarters level, our Club Lion Lee Lih Shyan resigned from the Lions Cabinet. Subsequently our Ln Bernard Cheong also declined as a Cabinet Officer in the new term for Year 2011/12..

A Madder World A beggar is sighted beside a dirty dump yard munching happily in his own sweet time. The conscious of hygiene is absent as he life is but a lost solace of paradise in his own beautiful world where everyone reckoned him as insane. Then along the high wall stakes a youngster is seen jumping frivolously and nonchantly oblivated of the concern where a fall will be perilous. But for him such act is enjoyable and funky. Then you called him also mad.

You see yourself smart, alert and prudent living in a world of financial wizardry but depressed with sleepless night worrying about when is the next economic burnt out and afraid of ther repercusion over daily news on crime, street violence and social unrest. Now who you think is more sane?
